End of Year - Newsletter
20/06/2017
A thuismitheoirí,
As I’m sure you are aware, I will be retiring on August 31st of this year. With this will come some changes for your school. I wish to advise you of these changes.
Principal
Sinéad Pigott- Sinéad was selected from interviews which were held last weekend. I wish Sinéad all the best as I’m sure you do. Sinéad is an extremely capable and hardworking individual and I’m sure she will be a fantastic principal.
Class Teacher
Norma Tyther- Norma will fill this vacancy as a mainstream classroom teacher. Norma has been in the school since January covering Fiona Doyle’s maternity leave, so many of you know her already. Norma will make a tremendous addition to the staff.
Special Education
Fiona Doyle (Special Education Teacher) has decided to job-share for the coming school year. Emma Phelan will job-share with Fiona. Both Fiona and Emma will meet with the parents of the children receiving Learning Support/Resource Hours in September to explain how this will work and answer any questions you may have.

Playground
As you can see, we are resurfacing our playground. We would like to thank the Parents’ Association for their substantial contribution to enable us to upgrade our safety zone surface from matting to a much safer and longer lasting surface called wetpour. I thank all of you who have contributed to their fundraising events to make this possible. I’m sure the children will have many years of pleasure in this playground from September onwards.
Farewell
Personally, I would like to thank all of you for your help and support, most especially over the last five years while I was principal. I will not name people individually, but your help was hugely appreciated. I sincerely hope you will continue to help and support your new principal and make the new members of staff feel welcome.
Slán agus beannacht,
Mary O’ Mahony
Principal
