Christmas Holidays:
We will close for the Christmas holidays at 12 noon tomorrow, Friday 20th December.
Prayer Service:
We will mark the start of the New Year as well as the Feast of the Epiphany with a short prayer service on Monday 6th January at 12 noon. Fr. Kevin will also bless the new extension on the day. All welcome.
Christmas Jumper Day:
Our annual Christmas Jumper Day raised a wonderful €320 for the fundraising efforts of Down Syndrome Ireland (Kerry). Thank you for your support. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
Parents’ Association:
The Parents’ Association are working very hard at present. We are very grateful to all involved for their support and assistance. We must extend warm thanks to the individuals and businesses that kindly donated spot-prizes for the raffle during the concerts. Our Parents' Association will be having a clothing collection in January. We would be delighted if you kept your unwanted clothes and linen to drop off to the container from January 20th to 27th. It's the perfect way to declutter the wardrobes and hot-presses prior to the New Year.
Swimming:
Swimming lessons will commence in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class after Christmas. 5th and 6th class will attend for the first 6 weeks, starting Tuesday 7th January. Lessons will take place on Tuesdays. Lessons will commence at 1pm and run for 45 minutes per week at Killarney Sports & Leisure Centre. The children will attend swimming lessons by bus. We will leave the school at approx. 11:50am and aim to be home at 2:30pm. A payment link and permission form has been sent via Aladdin with the option to spread payments over time if needed. Swimming is a compulsory facet of the Primary School Curriculum. Attendance at this course fulfils the Aquatics Module of the PE Curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education. Thank you to the Parents' Association for their support with the swimming lessons.
Finally, I would like to thank you all for your on-going support and co-operation throughout this term and to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Kind regards,
Sinéad Pigott
Principal
